It’s officially spring and everyone wants to put their best fashion forward.Purging your wardrobe is not a simple ,easy or fun assignment to do. Many people have emotional connections to unworn, useless or even tacky possessions . To present yourself this spring its  important to look fresh, bright, clean and colorful (and that knitted sweater auntie  Susie gave you  just doesn’t fit in the big picture nor do you need a daily reminder of the past).

First: Buy your favorite wine (I find it easier to let go when tipsy and you’ll laugh at your past poor style choices).

Next: Grab a donation bag and one by one go through your entire wardrobe. If you haven’t worn it in 6 mos.. time to go. If it has holes or tears.. time to go. If you can’t remember why you bought it.. time to go. If it doesn’t flatter your figure  (aka it’s ugly)… LET IT GO !!!

A great tip that I like to give clients is to turn all of your hangers backwards and as you wear each piece turn the hanger around. After about six months or so, do a wardrobe audit and reevaluate the items that haven’t been turned around. If you haven’t worn it in six months it’s likely that you won’t wear it and can make room for better choices.

The point is to make room for fresh and bright pieces that will make your personality pop and stand out from the crowd all season long. Purge your closet of the winter clutter today and spring forward!

Happy Purging!
